SENIOR TIMBITS

We are busy getting things ready for the 2022 Senior Timbit Hockey Season!

The season starts the weekend of October 1st and October 2nd.  You will receive an email next week Thursday or Friday once we have know the status of Jerseys and socks. (the shipment is delayed)

We are creating the 12 Senior Timbit Teams and you will receive a TEAMSNAP invite once the teams have been created. REMEMBER you can add any family member to TEAMSNAP once you are on a team.

You will have the full season skate times in the schedule on your TEAMSNAP.  Practices are Saturday and Games are Sunday.

Team and Individual Picture day is Saturday October 29th. (more information will follow)

The Remembrance Day Weekend Nov 12 and 13th there are no practices or games for the U7 Senior Timbits.

Hockey Edmonton U7 Fall Festival - December 17th - Terwillegar Rec Centre (TBC)

Christmas Break is December 19th - January 6th, 2023. Skates resume the weekend of January 7th and 8th.

U7 - Senior Timbits -

Sr. Timbits is an introduction to hockey where the children will have practices as well as play games.

  • For the 2022-2023 season those born in 2016 are designated to the Sr Timbits program.
  • A child can register in SR Timbits even if they have not participated in Discovery or Jr Timbits.
  • This program focuses on development of forward and backward skating, stopping, puck handling, and an introduction to the game of hockey.
  • Equally skilled groups/teams of an average of 10 -12 players are formed after a preseason skate.
  • Third-ice games are played (i.e. boards separate the ice surface into thirds and two games are played at the same time on the end surfaces with active rest in the middle).
  • Time and location to be confirmed for 2022-23 Season (we have requested Callingwod Arena)
  • All practices/games will be held on Saturday / Sunday.
  • Games are non-competitive with no score kept.
  • No regular goalies – players rotate through all positions, including goaltender. No goalie equipment is used.
  • Emphasis on skating and learning basic hockey skills with an introduction to team concept.
  • 18 Skill Development Sessions and 18 Small Area Game Sessions from October to March.
