We are thrilled to share some exciting updates regarding our U11 development offerings for the upcoming 2024-25 season. As part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing player development and fostering a positive hockey experience, we feel we’ve taken a direction that will best benefit our players and families.

 

2024/25 U11 HADP Program

As a result of the analysis of our independent player evaluation results obtained at the spring evaluation sessions, Whitemud West has made the decision to form one team within the HADP tier for the upcoming 2024/25 season. This program will continue to uphold the high standards set out for the HADP initiative, ensuring top-tier coaching led by Head Coach Brian Tucker, and additional development opportunities for our young athletes.

Following our spring HADP evaluation sessions, we're pleased to announce that the top ten protected players have now been contacted. The remaining roster spots (five players + two goalies) will be selected during our fall tryouts in August, with registration for these tryouts opening on June 1, 2024.

Enhanced Development for U11 Tier 1

In addition to our HADP program, we're excited to introduce enhancements to our U11 Tier 1 development, which essentially mirrors the HADP program. Building upon the success of our HADP offering, we feel this represents a significant investment in the development of players in the Tier 1 category. By allocating additional resources to this tier, we aim to provide the same high-quality development opportunities as our HADP offering, while allowing players to compete at the most appropriate level for their skill and experience.

For all players that have not secured an HADP roster spot at this time, we strongly encourage you to attend our Spring & Summer Development skates below.  This will help your player improve upon the areas identified in the tryouts.

 

June & July - Weekly Summer Development Skates

• These sessions will be led by the VP of Player Development and strategically informed by the HADP head coach.
• Evaluators will not be present at these sessions.
• Sessions are open to players and goaltenders who have either secured an HADP roster spot or intend to try out in fall.
• Players will be encouraged to focus on improving areas identified in Evaluation Sessions.
• Sign-up will be a-la-carte style at a cost of $15 per session. These fees are non-refundable and will not be applied toward fall registration fees.
