Coaching Opportunities

We are currently looking for coaches for all divisions - U7 Initiation, U9 , U11  and U13 if you are interested in being a coach this season with us here is how you can register:

 

1- Register Online:

  • Follow the registration link to register online through your  MY SPORDLE ACCOUNT- if you do not yet have a MY SPORDLE ACCOUNT - you can use the link to create one as well)
  • If your Spordle account is not currently linked to Whitemud West Hockey, you will need to request a transfer from our registrar. To initiate the transfer, please send an email to registrar@whitemudwest.com with the following information:
    • Your full name     
    • Your birthdate

Once the transfer is completed, you will be notified and can proceed with the coach registration process.

 

2- Complete Required Courses:

  • Respect in Sport Coach (RIS) – This course is MANDATORY for all coaches. It must be completed before any Coaching/Assistant Coaching application is considered. Only those registered with Whitemud West Hockey and who have completed the RIS Coaches course will be allowed on the ice.
  • The course costs $31.50 and we have pre-purchased codes for coaches; - please email registrar@whitemudwest.com for the code.

3- Police Information Check:

  • All coaches must have a valid Vulnerable Sector Police Check. This can be done ONLINE free of charge.  You will receive an email link for the POLICE CHECK (this will come from PoliceSolutions.ca-Edmonton Police Service-Record Check.

 

Deadlines and Additional Requirements

The above requirements are the minimum necessary to coach at Whitemud West and must be completed by September 15, 2024.

Additional coaching courses may be required for Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches. Registrar will be in contact with you for any missing or required courses.

 

Important Dates

Starting in September, there will be in-person Clinics for Coach 1, Coach 2, and checking skills. More details will follow as they become available.

Upcoming Coach Clinics

All required courses completed through Hockey Alberta will be reimbursed once the course is completed. To initiate the reimbursement process, please follow these steps:

  1. Complete the required course(s).
  2. Send the receipt for the course along with the transfer email to the registrar at registrar@whitemudwest.com

2024-25 Coach Registration- Available on HCR

Our VP of Coaching will review all of the registrations we receive and will contact if he has any questions regarding your registration. We receive many requests, and we do our best to consider each one carefully. 

We do not assign coaches to teams (except for U11 AA team) until after the evaluation process has been completed and players have been placed on teams.
