We are currently looking for coaches for all divisions - U7 Initiation, U9 (Novice), U11 (Atom) and U13 (Peewee) so if you are interested in being a coach this season with us here is how you can apply:
- Follow this link to register online through Hockey Canada.
- Once you have registered online we will require you to complete the following.
- Respect in Sport Coach – this course is MANDATORY for all coaches and must completed before any Coaching/Assistant Coaching application is considered. Only those that are registered with Whitemud West Hockey and have completed the RIS Coaches course will be allowed on the ice. The course costs $31.50 and we have pre-purchased codes for those that are Coaches with Whitemud West - please email email@example.com for the code. To complete this course please follow this link. IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Please select "NW WHITEMUD WEST" as the association.
- Police Information Check – we require all of our coaches to complete a Police Information Check every three (3) years. This can be done at the Whitemud West office free of charge. We require two (2) pieces of government issued ID (passport, AB Health Care Card, drivers license, birth certificate). This must be presented to us at the time that you fill out the paperwork for your Police Information Check. We will have some evenings and a weekend where we will open the office to come in to complete your police check if these current office hours do not work for you. These dates will be communicated to everyone and posted on our website once they have been set.
*Please note: the above items are the minimum requirements to coach at Whitemud West and must be completed no later than September 15th, 2020. There may be other coaching courses you will be required to take as a Head Coach.
Our VP of Coaching will review all of the applications we receive and will contact you if you have been selected to coach a team or if he has any questions regarding your application. Whitemud West receives a large number of requests for coaching and we do our best to go through each one for our coach selection. We do not assign coaches to teams (except for U11 (Atom) Tier 1 teams) until after the evaluation process has been completed and players have been placed on teams.
Important Dates: There will be dates beginning in September for Coach 1 and Coach 2 Clinic as well as Checking Skills. More details will follow as they become available.
