The Whitemud West Hockey Association Annual General Meeting will be held in person in the Whitemud West boardroom on Monday May 13th, 2023 at 7:00PM.

 

The Executive Board has the following positions open for nominations (Must be on the Board of Directors for 1 year to be nominated):

  • Initiation Director- VACANT (Job Description HERE)
  • U9 Director- Kumail Moledina has agreed to let his name stand (Job Description HERE)
  • U11 Director- Thu Parmar has agreed to let her name stand (Job description HERE)
  • U13 Director- VACANT (Job Description HERE)
  • Team Management Director- Nicole Darsaut has agreed to let her name stand
  • Equipment Director- Heather Foster has agreed to let her name stand
  • Disputes Director- Jonathan Hautmann has agreed to let his name stand

Whitemud West is also seeking members to join our committees:

  • Evaluations Committee-
    • Main focus is the process of evaluations in the fall
    • Attending and assisting VP Evaluations during evaluations
    • Being consulted on various evaluation needs throughout the season
  • Development Committee-
    • Main focus is on the development of players, goalies and support to coaches within Whitemud West.
    • Working with VP Development on determining needs for development to players
  • Tournament Committee-
    • Assisting Executive Director with the execution of the Whitemud West Fall Tournament
  • Minor Hockey Week Committee-
    • Oversight of arenas Whitemud West is required to take care of during MHW.
    • Opening and closing of arenas each day
    • Scheduling volunteers as needed
  • Events Committee-
    • Assisting Executive Director with organizing and executing various WM events throughout the season. Ex: Welcome BBQ,  U13 Player Graduation, Volunteer Appreciation evening

Whitemud West is seeking nominees for the Board of Directors and Committees who are interested in the growth of the organization. Positions on the Board of Directors and committees are voluntary, and are a great opportunity for individuals who wish to gain experience with governing bodies.

Nominees for the Board of Directors are required to attend regular monthly and annual meetings. Successfully elected and appointed nominees are expected to be responsible to actively participate and provide monthly reports to the Executive. Skill sets such as player development, strategic planning, fundraising, financial management, communications, marketing, legal, etc. are considered an asset.

Committee members will be required to attend meetings with Committee Chairs on an as required bases throughout the season.

 

What is covered at the AGM?

  • President, Vice President and Director reports
  • Presentation of Financial statements
  • Election of Executives

 

All nominations for Executive, Board of Directors and committee members must be submitted no later than April 30th at 4:00PM. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor. Website will be updated with nominations and agenda on May 6th. Please submit an application if you or someone you know would be interested.
